About Us

Since July 2016 Castle Square Clinic has been under ownership by Nia Hughes-Jones who took over the practice from Mr and Mrs Humphreys. Nia and her friendly and professional team look forward to welcoming patients old and new, continuing to provide an exemplary dental service. Our philosophy is to develop a close relationship with our patients in order to fully understand their concerns and desires; and provide high quality treatment in a relaxing, friendly, yet professional environment.

For our patients comfort, we have a large flat screen television and a wide up-to-date magazine selection in our modern reception area. Our surgeries are also equipped with the latest technology and have lovely views of the harbour and Caernarfon square. At present due to the existing layout, our B listed premises surgeries are not accessible to wheelchair users and we are unable to provide a disabled toilet.

Our Team regularly attend training courses to keep up to date with the latest developments in dentistry to deliver a highly professional service.

Meet the Team

Nia Hughes-Jones, BDS, MFDS (Owner and Principal Dentist)

Nia is the Principal dentist here at Castle Square Clinic since July 2016. She qualified in 2002 from UWCM in Cardiff. Since then she has worked in the hospital environment and passed her Royal College of Surgeons exams in 2006. She purchased a practice in Mumbles in 2009 but decided to come back to the Caernarfon area to be closer to family and friends. Nia enjoys fashion and exploring her creativity in her spare time.

Felicity Garbett - Practice Manager

Felicity is a qualified Dental nurse and has been since 1997. She started with us in October 2018 as a Dental Nurse following relocation to the area with her family. Felicity has now taken over as Practice Manager and is now in charge of the smooth running of the practice. Being passionate about patient care Felicity ensures that exceptional standards are met throughout the practice, both clinical and non-clinical. If you have any concerns about your treatment or appointments she is more than happy to help.

Sarah Rhys-Thomas, BDS, BFC - Dentist

Originally from the Llyn Peninsula, Sarah graduated from UMCM Cardiff in 2000 having gained a BSC in dental science as well as her dental qualification. She worked in Swansea for a year before returning to live and work in Anglesey. Sarah has been an associate with us since 2017 and is a valuable member of our team. Providing quality care with patience and understanding. She likes to spend time with her family in her spare time and walking with her dogs.

Prysor Aled, BDS - Dentist

Born and raised in Caernarfon, Prysor graduated from Cardiff University in 2010. He worked at a practice in Penrhyndeudreath for 9 years before joining the team here as an associate at Castle Square Clinic in August 2019. Prysor strives to provide quality care in a relaxed environment and takes his time to explain and discuss dental procedures to put patients at ease. Outside of work Prysor enjoys exploring Snowdonia on foot and bike as well as lending a helping hand on the family farm.

Nici Rowlands - Hygienist

Nici haș been a member of the team here at Castle Square Clinic since February 2007. She started off as a Dental Nurse in her early career and then went on to Liverpool Dental School in 2004 for 2 years, qualifying as a Dental Hygienist is 2006. She has become invaluable here, relentlessly keeping our patient’s mouths in tip top condition and showing them what they can do to help keep them that way in between visits. She is a dedicated professional, appreciated by both the other members of the practice team and all of the patients.

Ceri Toleman - Dental Nurse/Receptionist

Ceri started working at Castle Square Clinic in February 2022, she can be found in surgery and on reception. Ceri was born in Caernarfon and still lives locally, she is hard working and always happy to help. She has recently qualified as a Dental Nurse and gained her Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. Ceri enjoys Art and walking her dog “Ted”.

Wendy Williams - Lead Dental Nurse/Receptionist

Wendy has over 30 years experience as a Dental Nurse and has worked at this Dental Practice all of her working life and has seen lots of changes in dentistry over years. Wendy works mainly on reception these days but can be found in surgery occasionally. She is known to lots of our patients and their families and well trusted and liked by all.

Ffion Jones - Dental Nurse/Receptionist

Ffion started with the practice in December 2018 and gained her City and Guilds Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2020. Ffion mainly works in surgery but can also be found helping out on reception, she is kind and considerate and is always willing to help. When Ffion isn’t at work she loves walking her dog and spending time at home.

Sara Jones - Dental Nurse/Receptionist

Sara started with us in February 2022. She is a local girl and speaks fluent Welsh. She is a very friendly and smiley individual and can be found both in surgery and on reception. Sara has also recently qualified as a Dental Nurse and gained her Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma in Dental Nursing. She enjoys travelling, cooking and socialising with her friends in her spare time.

Henryette Hamilton - Dental Nurse

Henry has been part of the team on a part-time basis since July 2014. She works in surgery mainly and is extremely pleasant, very helpful and considerate and works very well within our team. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1991 at Utrecht College in Holland and has now configured that into a British NVQ Qualification. Henry runs a very busy Hostel in Caernarfon when she’s not working with our Principal Dentist here.

Erin Roberts - Trainee Dental Nurse

Erin is our newest and youngest member of Castle Square Clinc starting here in July 2023, she is very quiet but hardworking and a valuable member of the team. Erin is currently studying to become a qualified Dental Nurse as well as working in surgery with Sarah and can also be found on reception. In her spare time Erin likes socialising with friends, travelling and listening to local music.
